Harry Potter wedding at Rushen Abbey Restaurant
When I met Hayley and Ryan, I was actually nervous! I knew that they were planning on getting married at Halloween and use their love for Harry Potter as an inspiration for their wedding! Rushen Abbey restaurant provided a truly magical background for their Harry Potter themed Halloween wedding!
Ryan proposed Hayley at the Great Hall in Harry Potter Studios on London, hence the reason for wedding theme! So we wanted to do their pre-wedding photos keeping in with that theme at least somewhat. So I organised a couple of wonderful owl keepers with decades of experience to make this incredible photoshoot a possibility! And also what a wonderful and gorgeous couple these two lovely human beings are! It was pure magic! Both me and the couple couldn’t stop grinning the whole time!
We started their pre-wedding session at Milntown gardens and then went on to Ballaugh Curraghs!
Hayley and Ryan got married on Halloween and themed their wedding in Harry Potter style! Me, being a huge Harry Potter fan myself, capturing this wedding was a real dream come true for me! I honestly don’t think I have laughed so much at a wedding before! Haley and Ryan are some of the nicest and happiest people I have ever met and they are surrounded by the most wonderful, quirky and sweet family and friends! Despite having a few tough weeks before the wedding, they immersed themselves in the joys that the day brought with full enthusiasm that was so infectious! And the Harry Potter themed decorations were amazing! When I walked in to their ceremony and reception area, I didn’t even know where to look first, there was just so much brilliant creativity everywhere I looked – I was in my happy place! Also, although the morning started with a good old Manx storm, by the afternoon it was sunny and warm, for being the last day of October anyway. As always it was great working with Jane from the Registry Office, David from Platinum Cars, Matt Fletcher Entertainment & Events and the The Abbey Restaurant! But the best pleasure of all was working with Hayley and Ryan! Thanks so much for having me to be a part of your day and trusting me to capture it for you for decades to come! xx
Ryan was so nervous waiting for Hayley to walk down the isle! I love these images because they really show their emotions from that moment! Pretty much all of the couples that I have photographed are so apprehensive in the morning, but once they see each other, they feel like they can finally breath!
This was Hayley and Ryan’s Lumos exit! Harry Potter fans will understand 🙂
