Amalfi Coast Elopement

Delia and Francesco’s elopement on the Amalfi Coast. Before their elopement, I had a nice long chat over the phone with Delia and Francesco. They both live in Naples, but have previously lived in France! As Delia is a surgeon and Francesco is an engineer for Airbus, they are both highly intelligent. One of the things I love most about my job is the incredible and fascinating people that I get to meet and talk to! Everyone’s story is unique and I get to hear so many of them! Even though they live in Naples or Napoli, as is it’s name in Italian, this was only their second time on the Amalfi Coast.

I was staying at the small town of Vico Equense not too far from Sorrento, when Dalia and Francesco came to pick me up in their car before 7am having left Naples just after 5am! We then drove through the mountains to the very famous Amalfi Coast and watched hazy sun rise over the cliffs and the Mediterranean Sea. This time of the morning was quiet with only the occasional car go past. But it doesn’t take long for chaos to descend on these narrow windy roads. We stopped at several viewpoints before heading to the most famous town on the Amalfi Coast – Positano. If you have an Instagram, I’m sure you will have seen influencers pose on a boat or in the sea at Positano with it’s colourful houses tumbling down the mountainside.

As the tourists started to trickle in and the town and it’s shops awoke, the three of us sat down for a coffee and a chat. As I previously said, I never tire or take for granted these moments and connections that I get to make with other humans. Their elopement on the Amalfi Coast had come to an end and we all headed back, but the memories that I captured will last forever!
